The Gallery carries out a solidly planned and consistent exhibition programme – it presents and pro-motes the most modern art of different media (painting, sculpture, objects, photography, video art, inter-media installations, performance etc.). The Gallery presents over 20 exhibitions annually, which are individual shows or presentations focusing on a particular problem. The Gallery also presents the programmes of other interesting galleries. The Arsenal Gallery exhibits the works of outstanding artists from Poland and abroad. On top of that, it actively promotes newcomers and younger creators. Parallel to the exhibition schedule, the Gallery carries out a multi-level educational programme: it orga-nises meet- ings with authors, promotions of books, symposia, lectures, workshops for children, youth and students, as well as special trainings for arts teachers. The aim of these activities is to get the public better acquainted with modern art and, consequently, make the reception of the exhibitions proposed by the Gallery easier. From the beginning of its existence the Arsenal Gallery has been collecting works of art. The two col-lections include “Three Trends. Realism – Metaphor – Geometry” (1965-1985), as well as “Collection II” (1990-1999). The Gallery is located in a historical buiding by the Branickis’ Palace.
