Polańczyk Zdrój is one of the newest and largest resorts in sub-Carpathia in terms of number of sanatoria and holiday homes.
It is situated in one of the most beautiful corners of Poland, on the edge of Lake Solina in the Bieszczady Mountains. After the discovery of mineral water in the 1960s, and thanks to the good climatic conditions, in 1974 it was awarded the status of a spa. Polańczyk is also popular for water sports. The area has a well-marked network of hiking, biking and horse riding trails. In winter, visitors can enjoy ski lifts. Not far from Polańczyk, there is the Poland's largest dam and hydroelectric power plant in Solina.
