The original Botanic Garden in Zielona Góra has been estabilished already in the 20s of 20th century from the initiative of Municipal Agriculture Society. The present one (reconstructed) was opened on October 18th, 2007.
The new Botanic Garden in Zielona Góra was of officially opened on October 18th, 2007. It has the area of 2,43 hectares. There are over 500 species of plants in several zones: Europe, Asia, Americas, Poland, rock plants, plants which tollerate big humidity. In the centre of the garden there is a huge Indian tent, a place for the lessons with children and the youth. The present one (reconstructed) was opened on October 18th, 2007. One of its elements was creation of green complex with the botanic garden in the Botanic Street (nowadays also Botaniczna str.). The main designers of it were: Leberecht Migge and Hermann Jansen. The garden had the area of approx. 2 hectares. After the WW II the garden was demolished. In the end of the 50s of 20th century the present Builders' Technical School was built on the ground of the garden. It was then, when it started to disappear. Only few trees (outside the school area) survived.
