Kuźnik nature sanctuary belongs to the most interesting and valuable territory of nature in the region of Piła. Situated within the boundaries of the city, it includes protected, a picturesque landscape of forests and lakes with fragments of meadows and bogs. It creates ideal conditions for the growth of an unparalled number of plant species not found in the other reserves, especially mosses and liverworts. Among 30 species of birds living in Kuźnik the uncommonly rare kingfisher, the remis pendulinus, the black woodpecker, the green woodpecker and the long-eared owl are to be found.
