An exceptional number of erratic boulders on the European lowland. The boulder field is situated on the hillsides of front moraines in Suwałki Landscape Park.
The geological reserve „Łopuchowskie Boulder Field” encompasses the fragment of Suwałki Landscape Park where erratic boulders (Scandinavian ones) are gathered on the area of two front moraines situated between Lake Hańcza and the Szeszupa Depression. It is the only one example of such gathering of erratic boulders on the European Lowland. The boulders are in 75% of their dimension above the surface, and that makes the front moraines look severe and primeval. Hills with open spaces and scattered boulders are an interesting example of a postglacial landscape full of wonderful views on the Szeszupa valley. On the boulders there are interesting and rare species of lichen. In the reserve there have been found over 200 species of vascular plants, mainly belonging to grass community. The reserve was set up in 1988 and covers the area of 15,88ha.
