One of the most beautiful eskers in Poland. It runs through the middle of the Czarna Hańcza valley in the Suwałki Lanscape Park for 3 km - from Bachanowo to Turtul.
The Turtul-Bachanowo Esker consists of 13 hill of various length and height that lie within the valley of the Czarna Hańcza River and its tributary – the small Kozikówka River. One of the most beautiful eskers in Poland. It runs for 3 km from Bachanowo, near Hańcza Lake, to Turtul, where we can find the home of the Suwałki Landscape Park.
An esker is a postglacial formation. Three of the esker hills form islands on a pond in Turtul. We can admire some of the islands, the Turtul pond and the wider part of the Czarna Hańcza Valley from a bridge on the river or from a vantage point on the slope’s edge.
