The late Baroque basilica is the largest Marian sanctuary in the Carpathians. A museum has been set in the monastery, where collections of religious art and crafts from the sixteenth to twentieth century are presented.
This impressive temple is the largest Marian sanctuary in the Carpathians and remains the pride of the village. A wonderful picture presenting the scene of the Assumption is displayed on the main altar of the basilica. It is a copy, because the original burned down in "mysterious circumstances" in 1968. One of the most interesting museums of Podkarpacie is located in the monastery, namely the Museum of the Society of Jesus of South Polish Province. A collection of sacred art and crafts from the sixteenth up to twentieth century is presented in the museum, among them the crowned, miraculous picture of the Dormition and Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Marry from the first half of the sixteenth century. The museum also gathered a collection of one hundred nativity scenes from all continents. The oldest of them are more than a hundred years old. Many faithful pilgrims come to the basilica each year, not only from Podkarpacie region, but also from Hungary and Slovakia.
