The construction of the Church was connected with local legends about the miraculous founding of the crucifix. According to one of them, the crucifix was supposed to appear in Klimkówka inflowing the stream (today called Świętokrzyski).
Other legends talk about finding a figure of The Crucified by a local farmer during the land work. Crucifix was surrounded by the cult and a wooden chapel was built. The first Church was mentioned in 1639. The currently existing chapel was built in 1868. In its interior, in the main altar the miraculous crucifix was placed, dated from the XVII century. The interior walls of the Church received decorative painting reproducing the architectural divisions. In 1890 a small porch was built on the north side. The chapel was rebuilt many times. Today it is a sanctuary of pilgrimage (Indulgences: the 3rd of May - Finding of the Holy Cross, the 14th of September - Raising of the Holy Cross.).
