The origin of this Church is quite mysterious. In general, it is believed that it was built on the site of the castle chapel, which was mentioned in the historical sources from the year 1404, and which was destroyed along with the castle half a century later by the citizens of Bartoszyce.
It is located in the north - eastern part of the city on the left bank of the Łyna River. It is a single-nave Church, founded on a rectangular plan. Probably it originates from the fifteenth century, although there are assumptions that it could had been built already during the times of the first location of the town. The bell tower was added to the façade in the nineteenth century. The altar and pulpit supported by the figure of an angel are the examples of Baroque woodcarving from the first quarter of the eighteenth century.
