The first museum was established at the initiative of the Provincial Conservator - Richard Dethlefsen in 1909 in Königsberg.
It was then that copies of folk wooden structures of 18th – 19th century were built, originating in the regions of East Prussia: Warmia, Mazury, Powiśle and Lithuania. The period before Teutonic colonization was illustrated by a box grave and a mound from the Bronze Age. Konigsberg Ethnographic Park - "Dorfmuseum" opened in 1913.
