Built in 1927, the steel bascule bridge did replace an earlier wooden bridge. It is one of the most valuable monuments of art. The construction scheme prepared by the designers (company Beuchelt from Zielona Góra) was original and unique. The bridges of similar design solutions can be found in the United States, e.g. the Stillwater Bridge in Chicago (1894), Cape Cod Canal Bridge (1930), the Marine Parkway Bridge in New York City (1937) – and in Europe there is a railway bridge over the River Reth near Hamburg (1934). The tourist harbor was put back into service in 2007 after extensive renovations. The footbridge connecting the both sides of the harbor channel was added. There are the tourist boats coming here that can take the boat trips on the Odra River within the tourist port network (Nowa Sol-Cigacicie-Bytom Odrzański). There is a promenade as well as the walking and cycling trails along the Odra River. On the slope, there is a concert stage with a stunning view on the Odra River.
