Opole is one of the oldest city in Poland. One of its most precious monuments is the franciscan gothic church of The Holy Trinity, built in XIVth century. The church keeps unique treasures of culture.
The franciscan church is a record of complicated history of Opole. There are pieces of art from different ages. The oldest part of the church is the presbytery and the chapel of St. Anna called Piastowska, which was built in 1309. The chapel was founded by The Piasts as a sepulchral chapel. It is a pearl of Silesian gothic architecture and also the only one preserved work of sepulchral medieval art in Opole lands.
