The local steam train of Środa Wielkopolska is one of the last ones in Europe and runs on the steam traction only!
Technical monument, the narrow gauge steam train, named "Ciuchcia" is the most interesting tourist attractions of Środa district. Only the Środa Wielkopolska - Zaniemyśl line remained, which serves passenger traffic until now. The trains at the route Środa Wielkopolska - Zaniemyśl (14 km) run on the tracks of a spacing of 750 mm with speed about 25 km/h and reach Zaniemyśl 45 minutes. The "Ciuchcia" only runs during the summer season . Presently, the railway offers pre-ordered train for organized groups. Tourists may take advantage of the historic Px 48 steam locomotive, built in 1951, and passenger carrages from 1950's as well as the open sighseeing carriage. There is a possibility to make picnics, bonfires and other open air entertaiment for organized groups and companies on the route.
