St. Jan Chrzciciel brick parish was build between 1983 and 1985 upon striving of the parish priest Mieczysław Pupka.
The parish of Saint Jan Chrzciciel (John the Baptist) in Łapy Osse, was established on the 1st of November 1986 by the bishop of Łomża Juliusz Paetz. The parish was created by joining the territory of Saint Apostle Peter and Paul in Łapy and the parish Płonka Kościelna. The inhabitants of the district Łapy Osse build a temporary wooden chapel after the permission to build a church had been granted. St. Jan Chrzciciel brick parish was build between 1983 and 1985 upon striving of the parish priest Mieczysław Pupka. The church has been blessed on the fifth of September 1997 by the Auxiliary Bishop Tadeusz Zawistowski. The church was not consecrated. The brick presbytery was built between 1985 and 1986 thanks to the efforts of the parish priest Mieczysław Pupka.
