Monumental early medieval settlement and the oldest Slavic town is the best preserved fortified building from this period in Galicia.
There were approximately 130,000 different historic items found here, mostly previously unknown in Poland, often unique in Europe.
Wały Królewskie Settlement is in Trzcinica (a few kilometres from Jasło) on the Ropa River. Ramparts from the base of embankments reach up to 10m. In 1991-1998, approximately 130,000 archaeological sites were found in Trzcinica and defensive structures were examined. Works are carried out with a view to establish the archaeological museum of Trzcinica - ("second Biskupin"), as a division of Podkarpackie Museum in Krosno.
