The Treasurer wanders through the underground corridors and halls guarding the hidden treasure and you too can set out following his trail into the fairy tale land of the oldest salt mine in the world.
The salt mine in Wieliczka together with its underground exhibitions of the Salt Mine Museum were entered on the UNESCO World Heritage Site List. The place is really amazing and fascinating. It has carved out huge halls, long corridors, deep shafts, subterranean lakes, and even chapels such as St Kinga’s Chapel where religious services take place, all carved from salt. There are three levels open to visitors. The tourist route starts 64 metres deep and ends 135 metres below the ground.
