The trail covers 16 historical sites situated in the heart of the city centre and its close proximity. Unique historical and architectural sites. The trail encompasses the following areas: industry, transport, electricity and gas industry, flood and fire control. It includes only some of Cracow's technical sites (Cracow has many more).

Most of them were constructed in 19th and 20th centuries by leading Polish specialists. Some of them were built by foreign engineers and therefore constitute European heritage. Some of them still operate, others were adapted to serve other functions. A tram depot transformed into a Museum of Urban Engineering is the trail’s main attraction. There is a Tourist Information Centre inside which provides information about the trail’s sites.

The trail runs through the old part of Cracow. It begins in the Central Train Station and ends in Podgórze, in Schindler’s factory. The trail may be visited on foot. (2.5 h walk)
